Neil and Gill Maycock make all their delicious preserves at West House Farm, Elvington, near York. They took over Sutton Orchard in 2009. And have since won a string of awards including a couple of gold taste awards.
The Sutton Orchard has been bearing fruit for over 100 years and Neil and Gill have carried on the tradition and still grow damsons, greengages, Victoria plums, along with pears and lots of old varieties of apples including Suffield, King of Pippins, Discovery and Spartan. The hedgerows surrounding the orchards are also laiden with fruit including sloes and elderberries. All these fruits are used in their products which include, jams, jellies, chutney’s, dressings, chilli sauce and not forgetting their delicious mincemeat. Neil and Gill also make Gluten Free mincemeat and reduced sugar raspberry jam both of which are stocked in Fodder.
